At 8 am on Thanksgiving day, more than 40 volunteers showed up ready to serve! We appreciate each and every one of you who woke up early, fought through the bitterly cold weather, and passed out food to seniors in the community. Without you, our goal of passing out over 350 hot meals wouldn't have been possible. For Meals on Wheels service certificates, please make sure to send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Every service hour counts, especially to us. Keep supporting your local non-profits, and we hope to see you all on Christmas morning.
In October of 2019, the Detroit Association of Women's Clubs, Inc. hosted an unveiling to celebrate the secondary rename of the southwest street corners of Brush and E. Ferry. The street signs now read, "Dr. Rosa L. Gragg Blvd." Approximately seventy-eight years after the clubhouse's purchase, President Angela Calloway worked alongside club members and the Detroit City Council to bring honor to Dr. Gragg's legacy.

Before you add to cart and check out through Amazon's traditional site, go to www.smile.amazon.com to donate to your charity of choice. Once you have selected a charity, Amazon will take 5% of it's proceeds and donate it to your selected charity. Sponsoring the DAWC through Amazon allows the organization to keep "Lifting as We Climb" through outreach programs for the community. If you need instructions on how to do this, please check out the pictures below! Thank you for supporting.
On Sunday, February 10th, a group of volunteers gathered at the clubhouse, to make Valentine's Day cards for patients at the Children's Hospital. With supplies like glitter, heart stickers, markers and construction paper, volunteers were able to unleash their creative abilities and create as many cards as they pleased. Though the event was only scheduled for two hours, volunteers stayed longer to fellowship and give back to their community. In high spirits, these volunteers gathered and created over forty handmade cards. Thank you so much for all of your hard work. We thank you on behalf of the DAWC and the Children's Hospital.
