On Saturday, December 9, 2017, the Detroit Association of Women's Clubs had the honor of hosting SangriaVille at the DAWC Clubhouse. Organized by a group of strong and wonderful women, SangriaVille's mission and vision is to "To contribute positively to the lives of others and make our communities better places to live through our ongoing kindness and generosity to one another" and to "To bring together a diverse group of mature, progressive, creative women, who support and celebrate each other so that we can teach and learn from one another, foster meaningful and lasting relationships through a variety of social activities and events." Check out the pictures below! On Friday, November 17, 2017, the Detroit Association of Women's Clubs celebrated the unveiling and homecoming of the oil painting of past president Dr. Rosa Gragg. Dr. Gragg was instrumental in the procurement of the DAWC clubhouse and is a celebrated figure in both DAWC history and African American history. Check out the pictures below. This past Saturday, 11/4/2017, members of the Detroit Association of Women's Clubs participated in the ARISE Detroit Neighborhood Summit, which brought together city wide organizations such as block clubs, community groups and ordinary citizens to champion the face of change and empowerment in Detroit. DAWC Member Germaine Pentsil representing and lending a helping hand this past Friday at the Women's Convention held in Detroit, MI from October 27-29. Check out pics below! This was a great opportunity for pictured members to share the rich history of the Detroit Association of Women's Clubs and the clubhouse, and we look forward to the extended interest and coverage. Coming off of a 3-day weekend, the Detroit Association of Women's Clubs, along with some faithful volunteers, spent Labor day morning delivering 188 meals to deserving citizens. Through a continued partnership with Meals on Wheels, the DAWC continues to be a pillar of citizenship and community outreach. Check out some of the pictures below! On September 4th, 2017 (Monday) the DAWC will be participating in Meals on Wheels at the DAWC Clubhouse and we need volunteers! Come out and support those in need! Stay tuned for more information about upcoming fundraisers and the military tea! Yesterday, the Detroit Association of Women's Clubs hosted a fundraiser at Traffic Jam and Snug in Midtown Detroit. On Saturday, August 5th, 2017, the Detroit Association of Women's Clubs will be participating in the 11th Annual ARISE Detroit Neighborhoods day. Volunteers can come assist DAWC members in house maintenance and clean up, including gardening activities.
